New Zealand have called Northamptonshire player and coach Bob Carter as the girls team’s head trainer.
He replaces.
For their series against Australia, Carter had been in control of the White Ferns after two spells as coach of the men’s team.
His contract runs until the end of this 2021 World Cup.
Carter’s new squad will assemble for a training camp this season, but they’re next in aggressive activity at the lead-up into the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia which begins on 21 February when they host South Africa, in January.
However, without captain Amy Satterthwaite, who declared that she’s expecting her first child using spouse Lea Tahuhu and team-mate in January he’ll be for that championship.
Norfolk-born Carter had performed for Northants between 1978 and 1985, and was manager of cricket in 1999 till his sacking in 2002.
“It is a fascinating time to come on board with two enormous world tournaments around the horizon,” he explained.
