Drew Brees: New Orleans Saint quarterback suffers right thumb injury

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees did not return and left Sunday’s loss in the Los Angeles Rams in the first quarter with a ideal thumb injury.
“Right off when he attempted to throw, he also was having pain with it. It wasn’t anything elaborate,” coach Sean Payton said in his post-game press conference.
“We’ll give you an update when the time comes right.”
Payton said Brees didn’t have X-rays at halftime but suggested it might take a few days of testing until the group has an update.
Teddy Bridgewater entered with 3:29 remaining in the initial quarter. He moved 17 of 30 for 165 yards as the Saints dropped 27-9.
Before leaving, brees started the match three of five for 38 yards and an interception.
He came from the locker room after halftime using all the tape from his hand and with a helmet , but didn’t enter and was retaped.
Even the 40-year-old has missed only 1 game because of injury since joining the Saints in 2006, which arrived due to a shoulder issue in 2015.
He’s missed only two other competitions of a 210 using the Saints, while resting together using the team’s playoff place in Week 17 secure.
The Rams will seek out a third consecutive win when they visit Cleveland (0-1) on Sunday night (1.20am) and Week Four will soon see these host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the LA Coliseum (9.05pm).
New Orleans, without Brees, travel to Seattle (2-0) following Sunday (9.25pm) as they seem to go back to winning ways and then in Week Four sponsor the Dallas Cowboys in a blockbuster-looking Sunday Night Football (1.20’m ).
Week Two concludes on Monday night using coverage on Sky Sports Action, Cleveland’s visit to New York Jets and Main Event in 1am
