Phil Simmons reappointed West Indies head coach

Phil Simmons was reappointed as West Indies head coach, three years after he was controversially sacked from the place.
The 56-year-old former opening batsman formerly held the role from 2015-16, with the Windies winning the ICC World T20 under Simmons before he was released due todifferences in culture and tactical approach.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) had drawn up a shortlist of applicants such as Simmons, former batsman Desmond Haynes and Floyd Reifer, that oversaw West Indies disappointing World Cup campaign in England as interim coach.
Simmons, who also led Ireland before 2015 from 2007 and coached Afghanistan, will return to the position.
