Photographer Pat Healy was taken to hospital after a dreadful incident after the line at the race in Navan.
Thatsy and Entoucas fought out a thrilling end on the www.navanracecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle, using the group coming close together on the run into the line following negotiating the final hurdle.
While Thatsy edged to acquire, Entoucas appeared to crash through the inner railing after the post – colliding together with the photographer, who had been stationed nearby.
He was quickly tended to by staff – and while he was reported to be aware, he had been shot to Blanchardstown Hospital by ambulance for additional examination, inducing a delay to the nextMonksfield Novice Hurdle.
The physician on duty in the monitor, Frank Kenny, stated:He left the trail very secure and has injuries to the right side of his torso.
Driver and entoucas Mark Walsh escaped severe injury, together with the jockey had dived in the gap at the rail only after the line.
