Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville Join with our Staff on Carragher likens Warren Gatland into Jose Mourinho and this week’s Will Greenwood Rugby podcast to share their Rugby World Cup Forecasts.
The Monday Night Football duo start by sight their pool champions and runners-up and then flying by using their predictions.
The predictions remain thick and fast through the quarter-finals and onto semi-finals that are possible, landing at Ireland taking on New Zealand and England meeting arch-rivals Wales.
Carragher throws his support behind Wales due specifically to the influence of a single person.
“It’s Gatland you visit. He’s a top trainer, the Lions coach,” notes Carragher, who subsequently ponders on a potential New Zealand versus Wales final.
“New Zealand-Wales [in the final], I’ll go with this! I believe that New Zealand would do them.
“To be honest, the Lions did not shed, did they? To New Zealand. [Gatland] acquired a draw there”
With Greenwood being impressed with Neville’s rugby nous and Carragher’s, the tables switched on a comfortable subject – soccer managers. The issue is, which you would Gatland be like?
“He is stubborn is not he? With Warren Ball… is he Big Sam?!” Carragher pondered using a grin and a grin.
“You know everything, I would say Jose Mourinho. He gets results”
After immediately running the rule over Manchester City and West Ham – Greenwood and Rupert Cox’s treasured teams – attentions turn back to the Rugby World Cup.
