FanDuel MLB DFS Picks – August 14th

We needed a real pleasant night with previous nights FanDuel MLB DFS Picks because we have lots of manufacturing up and down the lineup.
Our pitcher, Domingo German, got things off to a wonderful start because he hurled seven innings of all both two-run ball with seven strikeouts in a winning campaign within the Baltimore Orioles. The right-hander let a pair of home runs which accounted for all the harm done in such a one off of him.
Our Cubs pile did a nice job. Nicholas Castellanos stayed white-hot, especially against left-handed pitching, having a solo home run from Jason Vargas and also singled and scored an additional run as well. Kris Bryant climbed and walked while Javier Baez walked recorded the RBI, but made good on his own exceptional stolen base divides against left wing pitching using a steal from Vargas, his 10th of the season. Quality manufacturing here.
We also did very well in our Tigers stack. Jake Rogers kept the energy stroke going using a home run a shot, in this one to improve his own walk. Travis Demeritte had another wonderful game which included a pair of singles, a set of runs scored and the other stolen base, his third at only his 12th big league sport. Finally Brandon Dixon provided a double but sadly struck out four times. However, we obtained low-owned production in this trio.
I rostered just two one-offs final night, and also among them delivered some big-time damage as Brian Dozier continued his attack on left handed pitching with a home run off of southpaw Alex Wood. Its better than nothing, although fellow one-off Josh VanMeter failed to offer value with a single at the night.
It was a wonderful night all night and I will seem to make it two in a row about tonights small slate.
P — Aaron Nola (PHI) — $10,100 vs. CHC
The top arm on this slate is left-hander Clayton Kershaw because he takes on the Miami Marlins in Miami tonightbut I am going to pivot to right-hander Aaron Nola as he chooses on the Cubs at his home playground of Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia this evening. Kershaw is the cash play, but I am going GPP with this lineup tonight. Besides, Nola was excellent at home that year where he has submitted a 3.07 ERA, 3.57 FIP, 3.73 xFIP along with a 10.78 K/9 across over 90 home innings this season in comparison to his 4.63 ERA, 4.99 FIP and also 9.11 K/9 across nearly half of the innings in comparison to his job in the home. Clearly, we have something to work with here as Nola has been very good at home more frequently than not this year despite a shaky start. When he hurled seven innings of one-run ball to boot up with 10 punchouts his last start in the home came against the White Sox. That marks the third time in the last six begins at home where 10 strikeouts have been attained by the 2018 NL Cy Young candidate. The Cubs are a harmful crime to be certain as they rank seventh in wOBA versus right-handed pitching, however that fact combined with his cost could maintain Nola lower owned than you can think. Im eager to roll the dice tonight.
C/1B — Jake Rogers (DET) — $3,000 vs. SEA
Once again I will be rolling up with a set of three-man piles in this one tonight and then rostering a few one-offs to match the piles. My three-man Tigers pile kicks off with Rogers as Im choosing him over both Miguel Cabrera and Brandon Dixon at similar price points at the C/1B spot. To put it simply, Rogers is the hottest bat of the three and I want to continue him while hes swinging that strong stick hes placed on display in three distinct stops this year, a journey that began at Double-A. He is likely to play almost everyday at this stage awarded his elite defense behind the plate, but Rogers could become a nice supply of electricity from behind the dish as he is homered four times in only 11 matches and 44 plate appearances at the MLB level that season. If you combine all three degrees, Rogers has smacked 18 home runs. He hit left-handed pitching for a great .844 OPS at Triple-A before his phone up, and thats what he will watch tonight against southpaw Marco Gonzales. Rogers is now two for 6 with two home runs against left-handers in the major league level including last nights taken off of southpaw Yusei Kikuchi. I feel some power can be generated in this matchup tonight.
2B — Niko Goodrum (DET) — $3,200 vs. SEA
Goodrum wasnt a part of my Tigers stack last night due to cost and the makeup of this lineup, however hes going be in this 1 tonight as he will produce a wrap-around stack with Rogers along with a Tigers outfielder in this 1 tonight. I desired him in last nights heap as his bat is productive against left-handed pitching, although he can sport some exceptional splits. The extra-base energy is raised against righties as Goodrum possesses a .173 ISO against righties in comparison with a .159 markers against lefties. However, from there on out, the Goodrums splits prefer facing pitching. Goodrum is hitting .364 using a .941 OPS, .393 wOBA and a 147 wRC+ to the season against left-handed pitching. Now, the figures are notably better on the street against lefties, however Im not too concerned because he doubled in the nights game and scored a pair of runs against the southpaw Kikuchi. There is also the fact that Goodrum has been quite good since the return by the All-Star fracture as he owns a .213 ISO, .853 OPS, .355 wOBA along with 122 wRC+ as July 12th. Finally, we have some stolen foundation upside as Goodrum has swiped 12 bases.
3B — Sean Rodriguez (PHI) — $2,200 vs. CHC
My piles arent exactly on the cheap side, especially my primary stack, therefore I had to find a couple value one-offs to generate my lineup fit under the salary cap with this slate tonight. I think I have found some value in Sean Rodriguezs bat because he chooses on the Chicago Cubs and left-hander Cole Hamels. By performing harm against left-wing pitching throughout his 16, rodriguez has left his big league money. In his profession against southpaws, Rodriguez owns a .168 ISO, .763 OPS, .336 wOBA along with also a 113 wRC+. Those numbers are especially better than his .146 ISO, .625 OPS, .275 wOBA along with 71 wRC+ from right-wing pitching. The breaks are wide again this year because hes smacked all three of the homers against left-handed pitching in just 43 at-bats against them. He is hitting .279 using a .233 ISO, .879 OPS, .370 wOBA and also a 129 wRC+ against left-handed pitching this season in that small 43 at-bat sample dimension. He has also produced a .350 ISO 1.041 OPS, .425 wOBA along with 164 wRC+ at home against lefties this season at a 20 at-bats sample dimensions as two of the homers this season have come in that span. Needless to say, we have something to use here in terms of extracting value from Rodriguezs bat tonight.
SS — Charlie Culberson (ATL) — $2,100 vs. NYM
The last one-off of the lineup is the Braves Charlie Culberson that comes in a near-minimum price against left-hander Steven Matz along with the New York Mets. It has been a tale of two seasons for Matz awarded his home/away divides this season. At home, he owns a eye-popping 2.14 ERA, but he has been brutalized on the road to get a 6.79 ERA while his 6.43 FIP and also 5.23 xFIP along with some 2.59 HR/9 around the street do not exactly paint a lot brighter picture. This could be an excellent thing for Culberson and the Braves as a Braves pile could be used tonight as well. That said, I like Culberson as a worth well. He is enjoying yet another successful year in part-time obligation as evidenced by his .345 wOBA and 110 wRC+ around this season. However, Culberson is doing some serious harm against left-handed pitching since he possesses a massive .405 average, .262 ISO, 1.085 OPS, .449 wOBA plus a 178 wRC+ to the season versus southpaw pitching. The sample is modest at only 42 at-bats, however, the production is actual. Not one of the hits went for extra-bases, but Culberson is 2 for 4 with a stolen base in his brief history against Matz. I think there is a whole lot of upside in both of these one-off worth plays tonight.
OF — Travis Demeritte (DET) — $2,900 vs. SEA
Completing our three-man Tigers stack is Demeritte who proceeds to impress because coming over from the Braves at the trade deadline and instantly getting his promotion into the big leagues for the first time in his career. His cross-category potential was on display in last nights match as he captured a set of singles, scored two runs and utilized his wheels to sneak his third base of this year in just his 12th MLB match. For what its worth, he also added four beats in Triple-A in the Braves business ahead of the transaction. It was fine to find him have some victory against a left-hander in the nights game as he had not done a very small sample before last nights contest, at least at the big leagues. At Triple-A, Demeritte punished southpaws to get a .954 OPS this season while nine of the 20 home runs in Triple-A came against a left-hander in roughly half as many at-bats because he had against righties. Demeritte has shown wonderful consistency since arriving to Detroit as hes recorded at least one hit in eight of his 12 matches, including in each of the final seven. The 24-year-old is set to obtain a long look in the Tigers outfield for the remainder of the season and Ill search for him to continue to make the most of the possibility again tonight.
OF — Mike Trout (LAA) — $4,800 vs. PIT
Even the Angels and Pirates continue their collection from Anaheim tonight and the Angels have a real nice home matchup against right-hander Chris Archer whos mostly fought to the road this year. Archer enters this only sporting a 6.66 ERA on the road this season while hes let a whopping 2.05 HR/9 on the street as well. His 4.94 FIP and 4.32 xFIP suggest there is some favorable regression to be needed for Archer on the road this year, but to be quite honest I will just roster three Angels who hit right-handed pitching for plenty of home run power and watch where it takes me. Trout is competing for a home run crown this season and this matchup is favored by his splits. Even the righty-swinging Trout has superior numbers versus righties than lefties in the shape of a .389 ISO, 1.136 OPS, .452 wOBA and a 191 wRC+ vs righties on the season. His numbers versus righties at home are largely similar. We get some stolen foundation uspide with Trout and hes two steals on the season, seven of which have come from righties. Archer is prone to the stolen base plus I enjoy that Trout includes three steals against him despite having a .227 batting average in 22 livelihood at-bats contrary to him. Nevertheless, given home run woes this season and Archers road work, Trout is again a high-ceiling perform tonight.
OF — Shohei Ohtani (LAA) — $3,500 vs. PIT
Person up in our three-man Angels pile is Ohtani who continues to hit against pitching for lots of power, especially in the home. Insert into his speed on the basepaths and then we certainly have loads of cross-category upside down inside this matchup tonight. Entering perform tonight, Ohtani possesses a .245 ISO, .902 OPS, .371 wOBA along with 136 wRC+ over the season versus right-handed pitching. Furthermore, he has submitted a .320 ISO, 1.076 OPS, .431 wOBA and 176 wRC+ on the period against lefties at home. Ohtani has utilized his speed to steal 10 bases. It has been a pretty quiet half to its superstar he has caught fire and enjoyed a night in last nights match as well. Over his past four games, hes gone 8 for 20 (.400) with 2 doubles, a triple, four runs scored, six RBI and a stolen base to boot. Yesterday evening he went 2 for 5 with a triple, a double, two runs, two RBI and a stolen base. Ohtani is one of those bata you need to ride when sexy and thats just what I will do in a home matchup in which he does his work.
UTIL — Justin Upton (LAA) — $3,100 vs. PIT
Upton has seen action in only 40 games this season as a result of an injury that cost him a big chunk of the first half of the season, but the man is once more displaying some reverse-splits and mashing pitching in 2019. Upton sports a .238 ISO, .871 OPS, .360 wOBA and 129 wRC+ on the season against right-wing pitching. The amounts are much better on the road against righties, but given the small sample Im not worried about this to be entirely fair. This marks the second consecutive season he has submitted some showy reverse-splits since he set up a .232 ISO, .875 OPS, .373 wOBA along with 141 wRC+ from righties last season in contrast to a .125 ISO, .593 OPS, .265 wOBA along with 67 wRC+ against lefties this season. He has not conducted much this year with just one steal so far, but he has listed 22 steals within the past two seasons and using Archer letting his fair share of steals, possibly the stolen base upside has a couple of ticks in the perfect way in this . I am more interested by the energy upside down to be positive and this three-man Angels pile brings plenty of that against a pitcher permitting a lot of home runs this year.
