Joe Root has insisted that he is the man to take England’s cricket team forward despite criticism of the captaincy.
During the Ashes, Test captain Root believed 325 runs in 32.5, the third most runs out of an England player and also the sixth most overall.
In addition, he took three wickets in 40.66 and made seven grabs, with just wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow making more for the hosts.
However his batting has suffered and Australia retained the Ashes however, Root insists he is the right man to lead the aspect in future.
He said:”I want to be 100 per cent. I totally love it.
“I’m very honoured to captain England and I want to take this team forward.
“I truly do believe I am the right man to do it. Hopefully I can find the financing and I will prove everyone .”
The Yorkshire batsman also confessed England’s well-known strategy to turn on their white-ball match, this summer, culminating in their World Cup win, had to be reproduced in red-ball cricket.
He continued:”Winning the Ashes rear is really a enormous attention for English cricket, so it needs to be now.

Bowler Stuart Broad added:”You just have to appear at Joe’s captaincy record, and it’s more effective than many England captains. The players are well aware we can be consistent, and we are going to deliver that.”
