Marc Marquez has won his MotoGP world title – and his fourth in a row – on Sunday after success in Thailand.
The 26-year-old, that was taken to hospital following a crash in practice at circuit in Buriram, sealed his most recent crown with four races to spare.
The Spaniard had to win at least 2 things over closest Andrea Dovizioso – and did so as the Italian finished fourth.
Fabio Quartararo was second, using Maverick Vinales in third.
Frenchman Quartararo passed Marquez on the corner of the the final lap – but Marquez was still able to retake the cause because of his 53rd MotoGP race win.
I was planning the weekend to win the race, not think about the championship, said Marquez.
My target was to find the ideal method to win the race, and thats what I did.
Amazing calendar year. The staff did an incredible job. Now its time to enjoy and celebrate the name.
The next race will take place in Japan on 20 October.
