Photographer Pat Healy has been taken to hospital after a nasty incident after the line at the opening race at Navan.
Thatsy and Entoucas fought out a thrilling end to the www.navanracecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle, together using the group coming close together on the run into the line after negotiating the final hurdle.
Even though Thatsy edged in front to acquire, Entoucas seemed to crash during the railing that was inner shortly after the post – colliding together with the photographer, who was stationed nearby.
He was quickly tended to by staff – and after he had been reported to be conscious, he was shot to Blanchardstown Hospital by ambulance for further examination, causing a delay into the nextMonksfield Novice Hurdle.
The physician on duty in the track, Frank Kenny, stated:He abandoned the trail really secure and has injuries to the right side of his torso.
Entoucas and rider Mark Walsh escaped injury, together with the jockey had dived in the gap in the railing only after the lineup.
