Arsene Wenger Considers Serge Gnabry Decided to Depart Arsenal Following beingExploited behind the scenes by Bayern Munich.
Before departing to join Werder Bremen at 2016, gnabry broke to the Arsenal first team under Wenger at 2012 but went on to make only 10 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
The subsequent time moved on to Bayern Munich and has become a key player for the Bundesliga champions, as well as the German side.
Former Gunners director Wenger insists he wanted Gnabry to stay with Arsenal, but the 24-year-old was tempted to depart the Premier League amid attention from Bayern.
We attempted to extend his contract for a lengthy time and I believe Bayern manipulated behind the scenes, which if he moved to Bremen hed join Bayern later, Wenger told beIN SPORTS.
He was always an extremely gifted boy who lacked faith in some phases, but we always believed we had a participant who may achieve a good deal.
He came back from a really poor experience [on loan] in West Brom where his confidence was destroyed. I tried to rebuild him since I felt in him
Gnabry has scored five goals in nine games for Bayern this season, including four in a win over Tottenham at the Champions League earlier this season.
Wenger admits that he was surprised to see that the champions dominate against Arsenals north west London rivals.
They had only won 3-0 in Paderborn, you would not expect them to return and place seven goals away at Tottenham, he said.
I think that it was one of the nights where all goes for everything and you from Tottenham.
Gnabry also scored one and set up a second for Germany in their 2-2 draw with Argentina on Wednesday.
However, Wenger believes the should improve his consistency if he is to be thought of as one of the worlds best players.
A top-level career is consistency, when you look at the players that dominate our sport it is the ones that reveal huge consistency and that is what is at stake, he explained.
