Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville link up with our Staff with this week’s Can Greenwood Rugby podcast and Carragher likens Warren Gatland into Jose Mourinho.
The Monday Night Football duo begin by sight runners-up and their swimming pool champions and then also flying their predictions.
The predictions continue thick and fast through the quarter-finals and onto semi-finals that are potential, landing at Ireland carrying on New Zealand and England assembly Wales.
Carragher throws his support behind Wales due to the influence of one person.
“It is Gatland you visit. He is a top trainer, the Lions coach,” notes Carragher, that then ponders to a possible New Zealand versus Wales closing.
“New Zealand-Wales [in the final], I will go with that! I believe that New Zealand would just do them.
“To be honest, the Lions did not shed, did they? On New Zealand. [Gatland] got a draw over there”
With Greenwood being impressed with Neville’s rugby nous and both Carragher’s, the former England international switched the tables onto a familiar subject – football managers. The question is, which one could Gatland function like?
“He’s stubborn is not he? Together with Warren Ball… is he Enormous Sam?!” Carragher pondered having a grin and a chuckle.
“You know everything, I would say Jose Mourinho. He gets results.”
