Gareth Southgate: Keeping England manager ‘tough ask’ for FA, says technical director Les Reed

FA technical manager Les Reed has admitted it could be a”demanding request” to prevent Gareth Southgate from leaving his role as England boss to join a Premier League club.
Southgate has managed a dramatic transformation since being promoted from his function because manager in 2016, leading England to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals along with also the Nations League finals the following summer.
By where he was sacked his side was expelled in the Premier League, the previous experience as a club manager came in a spell at Middlesbrough.
“It might be a hard ask depending on what he had been provided,” Reed told Sky Sports News. “But I understand Gareth’s mindset right now is that he wants to be an England manager that wins something.
“I think that the fascination of becoming the next England boss to take us to a World Cup final is a strong pull and also I believe he understands that by doing his stock’s not likely to return.
“Obviously it is something which we’ve in the back of our minds all of the time but I know that Gareth’s motivation is with this team and growing this team moving ahead.”
England will be seeking to maintain their perfect start to the campaign when they sponsor Kosovo on Tuesday and have completed their form beneath Southgate into qualifying for the 2020 European Union.
The side of southgate conquered Bulgaria 4-0 in Wembley on Saturday to make it three wins from three Group A, together with 14 goals scored and one surrendered.
