The Monday Night Football duo begin by flying by using their predictions to the outcomes of each Rugby World Cup pool and then sight their swimming pool winners and runners-up.
The predictions continue fast and thick and onto potential semi-finals, landing in Ireland carrying on New Zealand and England assembly Wales.
Carragher throws his support behind Wales due to the influence of a single man.
“It’s Gatland you see. He is a top coach, the Lions coach,” notes Carragher, who subsequently ponders on a potential New Zealand versus Wales final.
“New Zealand-Wales [in the final], I will go with that! I think that New Zealand would do them.
“To be fair, the Lions didn’t shed, did they? To New Zealand. [Gatland] obtained a draw there”
With Greenwood being impressed with Neville’s rugby nous and Carragher’s, the tables were switched by the former England onto a more comfortable subject – soccer managers. The question is, which one could Gatland function like?
“He is stubborn isn’t he? With Warren Ball… is he Big Sam?!” Carragher pondered using a grin and a chuckle.
“You know what, I’d say Jose Mourinho. He gets results”
