2019 NCAAF Betting Preview: Iowa State Cyclones

Iowa State Cyclones

OVER 8 Wins?? -125
The Cyclones are coming 14 starters and are led by a few of the latest head coaching commodities in college football and thats Matt Campbell. Teams in the NFL sought after campbell but feels like hes building something special .
Iowa State is one of only two teams in the Big 12 (the other being the Oklahoma Sooners) to win at least eight games in each of the past two seasons. This team contains five offensive players that are preseason All-Americans plus also a quarterback in passing efficiency last campaign in Brock Purdy who led The Big 12.
You heard correctly, Brock Purdy needed a much better efficacy than Heisman hopeful Sammy Ehlinger of Texas along with Heisman winner Kyler Murray of Oklahoma. As he added 14 additional points a match when he was named the starter, purdy turned this team around from the second half of this season.
From the backfield NFL-bound David Montgomery will be missed by that the Cyclones but have the void to fill.
The Cyclone defense will probably be extremely strong again and led the Big 12 in total defense. They allowed only 3.3 yards per carry, a marker which was ninth-best from the country. Since the convention was founded in 1996, Iowa State hadnt ever completed first in scoring defense till they did it in 18 in their turnaround year.
Lots of players return such as standout security Greg Einsworth (led team with 87 tackles), defensive end DaQuan Bailey (8 sacks, 14.5 tackles for a loss), along with linebackers Marcel Spears and Mike Rose.
Campbells team ended the season and has high expectations. Getting to eight-plus wins is not just something however a conference championship game is within their reach.
In their non-conference schedule they have just twocake matches, versus Northern Iowa and Louisiana-Monroe, but lodged between these games they have their in-state rivals, the Hawkeyes of Iowa. It is time for the Cyclones to create an early-season statement along with a win over the Hawkeyes (Iowa has won four straight in this series) can do that.
Their street conference competitions are Baylor, West Virginia, Texas Tech (in AT&T Stadium) and Kansas State, all clubs the Cyclones defeat a year past. They do play another street game and thats vs Oklahoma. That the Cyclones shocked the Sooners and Heisman winner Baker Mayfield 38-31 before you count that as a loss, dont forget two years back in Norman.
The week after that match the Longhorns venture into Jack Trice Stadium in the match which will determine who gets a potential tiebreaker. Though Texas has a solid head coach in Tom Herman plus a powerful crime, the Longhorns wont be able to stay informed about the Cyclones and yield three starters.
Things are changing in the Big 12 and the Iowa State Cyclones are the No. 1??change that is going to select the conference by storm.
